Overview
For those wanting to get involved in a community service activity, then the Runaway Bay Lions Club could well suit your needs.
If you would enjoy assisting at various BBQ’s then our club is for you. Apart from BBQ’s we do various fund-raising activities to enable us to donate to worthy causes and charities, predominately within our own region.
We cater for Seniors Expo's, etc and have several raffle desks with the support of the Runaway Bay Centre.
Fees
Our membership application fee is $25 and the bi annual membership fee is $45.
All the fees and funds raised go to charities including Children's Cancer Research, Bravehearts and Riding for the Disabled. These are among the many causes the Lions Club supports.
Procedure
Prospective members should meet with the Membership Director or nominee and one other member to ensure that membership obligations are explained, including:
• Time, attendance and participation commitments
• Financial commitments
• Overview of Club activities and projects
• Overview of Lions and benefits of membership
On completion of the formal membership application, the Membership Committee shall submit a recommendation to the Executive and if approved by a majority of members an invitation to join will be extended.
On payment of fees and dues the membership will be confirmed.
Induction of New Members
Your induction will be conducted with all due ceremony and dignity by an approved Lion at a meeting of the Business Meeting, Club Meeting or other relevant event. All new members will be welcomed into the Club immediately following the induction, by all members present.
